To keep our city safe, the Police Department has officers out on patrol throughout the city at all times. In order to ensure that all areas of Spartanburg are covered, the city is divided into four patrol districts with a set number of officers typically covering each while still allowing for fluctuations depending on where officers are needed most. Officers within those districts are assigned teams under a sergeant with two teams making up a platoon, each with a lieutenant in charge.
Patrol District One covers Spartanburg's north side, including the Beaumont Village neighborhood, neighborhoods around Cleveland Park, and both Wofford College and Converse College. The District also includes areas of downtown north of Main Street.
Patrol District Two encompasses the city's east side, including the neighborhoods of Converse Heights, Fernwood, and the neighborhoods and businesses in the Hillcrest area.
Patrol District Three covers Spartanburg's south side, including the Hampton Heights, South Converse, and Duncan Park neighborhoods, as well as the areas of downtown south of Main Street.
Patrol District Four contains our city's west side, including the neighborhoods of Woodland Heights and Camelot, as well as major shopping areas such as the Dorman Centre and Westgate Mall.
