A southeastern favorite among young and old alike, Grand Strand is an eight-piece rhythm and blues/beach music band formed in the spring of 1976. Since their inception, they have spread their Carolina beach sound from Mobile, Alabama, to Newport News, Virginia, and everywhere in between.
They have performed at former and current beach clubs like Charlotte’s Johnny Dollars and Holiday Inn Woodlawn, Atlanta’s Oceans Drive South, Winston Salem’s The Guard and The Galleon in Myrtle Beach. Featured at numerous beach festivals, they have also been a popular act at venues like Freedom Weekend Aloft, Belle Chere, golf tournaments, street dances and other community events. Grand Strand is actively sought by fund raising organizations such as Red Cross, Muscular Dystrophy, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and Mobile Meals. They have been billed on shows with Jerry Butler, The Commodores, and Delbert McClinton, as well as most currently active beach groups such as the Fantastic Shakers, The Embers, and Chairmen of the Board.
